The rapid traverse function is implemented by a check valve integrated in the spool (cartridge technology) (AZ to BS). In this mode, the spool does not move. A small pilot piston deflects the main piston in line with the pressure. As soon as the activation pressure for the power stroke is reached, the control piston moves out of its overlap and releases the oil from the rod side towards the main control block to tank (AZ to AS). When the pressure drops, the piston closes and the rapid traverse circuit becomes effective. The optimally designed spring with maximum stroke ensures fast and energy-efficient opening of the shears.
