TCV
The TCV throttle check valve is generally suitable for adjusting the movement speed in one direction of flow. Another application is to prevent cavitation and thus excessively high cylinder extension speeds, for example caused by overrunning loads.
If an excavator lifts heavy loads with the bucket, there is a risk of cavitation occurring on the rod side of the boom cylinder during lowering. The reason is that the load causes the cylinder to extend quickly, but the control system does not supply enough oil to the rod side. Anti-cavitation valves prevent this. Excessively high extension speeds are prevented by an adjustable restriction. A check valve allows oil to enter the cylinder without loss.
